About Me

Music has been a companion of mine for as far back in my life as I can remember. My parents were very tuned into the sounds of the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s, and popular music was a big part of our family.

My musical composition journey started with my first drum lesson at the of ten. I was instantly captivated by the process of putting marks on a page that translated into bumps and beeps and sounds that can be shared with the World, spending hours drawing five lines on a page, a napkin, a school book cover, and filling it with magical codes.

During my freshman and sophomore years in high school, my band director tasked me with arranging several pieces for various Philadelphia Mummer String Bands fancy division for their New Years Day performances. Other opportunities presented themselves throughout my high school years to arrange jazz charts and big band / dance band pieces.

After high school I began writing ever larger, longer, more complex pieces for a few rock and roll outfits, and eventually my own band playing all original long-form compositions. When it became obvious that I was not going to be a World famous rock star, and life being what life is, My best friend and former band mate and I opened a Hi-Fi concern. So, throughout a lifetime of careers and marriages, good times and bad, one constant for me has always been my music. I wrote some rock things, had a long electronic music period, but always my compositions leaned towards symphonic form orchestral pieces.

Now that I am retired from my full-time career(s), I’ve been re-imagining my various older compositions as full symphonic pieces arranged for orchestra. I’m also mapping out and starting to write several new works, all of which will eventually appear on this website as they are completed. Also, if I can figure out how to do it, I might put some sketches and early drafts of these new pieces.
